Train Narita Brian in Umamusume Pretty Derby with our guide on the stats, skills, support cards, and legacies you need.

Narita Brian is a generalist possessing strong character skills and stat bonuses that make her a valuable asset in Team Trials and as a Legacy (parent) for your trainees. She excels in Medium and Long Team Trials races using the Pace Chaser or Late Surger running styles. This build focuses on training her for these event categories with stat distribution, support card loadouts, and skills to aim for.
Umamusume Pretty Derby: Narita Brian Training Guide

Narita Brian’s unique skill is Shadow Break, which increases velocity while overtaking a runner on the outside of the final corner or later. The skill suits all non-Front Runner styles, making the Pace Chaser and Late Surger styles ideal for her.

Recommended Stats
Narita Brian has a 20% bonus to Stamina training and a 10% bonus to Speed training, covering the two most important stats for Medium and Long races.
Medium
Style | Speed | Stamina | Power | Guts | Wit |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Pace | 1200 | 880 | 800+ | 320 | 400+ |
Late | 1200 | 820 | 850+ | 320 | 400+ |
The race category’s actual Stamina requirement is 1,100. Use a rare (gold) Stamina recovery skill like Swinging Maestro to reduce the Stamina requirements to the listed levels. Aim to max out Speed, but getting 1,000+ is suitable as long as you manage to meet the threshold for Stamina.
Long
Race Style | Speed | Stamina | Power | Guts | Wit |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Pace | 1000+ | 1070 | 600+ | 440 | 400+ |
Late | 1000+ | 980 | 600+ | 440 | 400+ |
Long races’ real Stamina requirements are 1,350-1,500, depending on the distance. However, maxing out the Stamina stat isn’t optimal since we can use two rare recovery skills, such as Swinging Maestro and Cooldown, to meet the Stamina threshold. After you are on track to meet the Stamina requirements, focus on maximizing Speed. Power isn’t a priority, as longer last spurt distances will give Narita Brian plenty of space to escape the pack and reach top speed.

Support Card Loadouts

Race Distance | Loadout 1 | Loadout 2 |
---|---|---|
Medium | • 4 Speed • 2 Stamina • Inherit Power | • 5 Speed • 1 Stamina • Inherit Stamina |
Long | • 3 Speed • 3 Stamina • Inherit Power | • 4 Speed • 2 Stamina • Inherit Stamina |
Use loadouts based on your support cards’ levels. Loadout 1 is for players with high-level (3LB, MLB). Loadout 2 makes up for a lack of MLB Speed cards by using one less Stamina card and inheriting Stamina sparks from Legacies.
Ideally, include SSR Super Creek in all loadouts, and SSR Mejiro McQueen for the Long race loadouts. Doing so will unlock good gold recovery skills during training.
