Should You Pull for Narita Taishin in Umamusume: Pretty Derby

Narita Taishin is an excellent character to pull for Mile, Medium, and Long distance races as an End Closer. Following Gold Ship, Narita Taishin is the next reliable End Closer who can leverage the style’s skills and win consistently. However, she is not a must-pull, as there is an abundance of 3-star characters who can be trained for your Mile, Medium, and Long distance racing teams.
Alternatively, consider pulling for Narita Taishin if you like her story and personality, and want to experience her career. To get a sense of her persona, watch the free story events made available with the banner.
To make her viable in PVP, you’ll need to upgrade Narita Taishin to Potential Level 5 and unlock ‘Encroaching Shadow.’ The rare skill is essential for her to win races reliably as an End Closer, as it increases acceleration on the final straight.
Since there are several good characters available for Medium and Long races, Narita Taishin is recommended for the Mile race team. Her unique skill’s long activation time allows the increased target speed effect to carry over well into the final spurt. However, you will have to raise her Mile aptitude rating to “A” using Sparks.
