Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is an incredibly fun to play ARPG game that offers excellent storytelling. It is built using the Unreal Engine 5 and uses Lumen for lighting, reflection, and ambient occlusion. As a result, it becomes extremely demanding in many areas. The performance you will get out of this game is very inconsistent, with minor traversal stutters throughout the game and frame drops in heavy combat.

The settings below aim for a high FPS count, as the game benefits from low latency. However, we are not altering much of the visuals, which would entirely spoil the game’s look and feel.

Note: Using DLSS in this game drastically changes how the game looks and feels. The image is instantly made soft, and this is apparent even with the Quality upscaling, completely getting in the way of the game’s aesthetics. We are using DLAA in this game and entirely turning off any form of upscaling.

For RTX 5050 and up to RTX 5060, you may experience frame drops in heavy combat situations. If your frame rate drops below 60, we recommend using DLSS at Quality or Balanced. Once combat is over, you can revert it. With the 5060 Ti, you should be able to maintain 60+ FPS at 1080p most of the time.

That said, you will require a CPU with power within the Core i5 12600KF territory. Anything lower than this increases the chances of being heavily CPU-bound.

For the RTX 5070, we recommend using upscaling at 1440p if performance drops in combat, and then reverting to our suggested settings in lighter zones, such as free roaming and exploring Seattle. With GPU power such as the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080, these settings should easily maintain 60+ FPS at 1440p throughout the game, regardless of the area.

With RTX 5090, you can even use 4K and enjoy the game, as the fastest GPU on the planet should be able to deliver an enjoyable frame rate with this game. That said, with this kind of GPU power, starting with the RTX 5070, we recommend pairing a CPU with computing power nearing the levels of a Core i7 14700K or higher.
