During his trip to Colombia, iShowSpeed choked on a fish bone and fellow content creator Westcol had to step in to help.
YouTuber Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. resumed his in-real-life (IRL) travel series and is currently in Colombia. During his Latin America tour, he teamed up with fellow content creator Westcol to try out some local delicacies.
During a meal, iShowSpeed tried a local fish dish and choked on a bone. The streamer started choking up and Westcol had to hold the streamer’s throat and help him swallow the bone. Once Speed could breathe comfortably again, he thanked Westcol for the help.
Westcol is one of the biggest influencers in Colombia with over 1.1 million subscribers on YouTube and 4 million followers on Instagram. He is accompanying Speed and helping him communicate with local Colombians.

With iShowSpeed supposedly exaggerating his expressions as Westcol saved him, fans found the moment hilarious.

Many X users commented that they want a friend like Westcol to save them.

While most users were commenting on Speed and Westcol’s friendship, others made fun of Speed’s reactions.
“Speed was fighting demons.” commented @Oceanicpromo24.
“The way Speed manages to turn even a casual dinner into a life-or-death situation proves exactly why he’s the most entertaining streamer alive right now.” @pattherogue said.
After Westcol saved Speed, the YouTuber thanked him and continued eating his meal.
Speed Confuses Cornstarch For Cocaine In Colombia
iShowSpeed’s struggle to eat a fish is not the only moment that went viral during his trip. The streamer was welcomed with cornstarch by the locals. Some children were playing baseball and some of them threw cornstarch at Speed.

The streamer was confused about what happened and he jokingly asked if people threw cocaine at him. Dozens of fans surrounded him and asked him to do his signature backflip, and he obliged.

Later in the stream, content creator Addison Pierre Maalouf, also known as YourFellowArab met up with the streamer. Speed and YourFellowArab interacted with Colombian locals. YourFellowArab then brought iShowSpeed coca leaves and asked him to try it out. He said:
“This is a coca leaf. This is the natural caffeine that Colombia is known for.”
YourFellowArab assured Speed that the leaves are just mild stimulants and are not harmful to consume. However, Speed was hesitant to try out the leaves and was concerned about eating them.
