Buddy System in Vindictus: Defying Fate
You can select any character to be your loyal companion. These companions, once chosen, will help support you in your expenditures as AI characters. They will also be present during any battles you encounter. Let us take a look at what you can do with your buddies.
Characteristics of your Buddy
These buddies will help give immense support during battles. These could either be in the manner of offence or defence against monsters. Buddies, by default, will choose to wait near you. As soon as a battle begins or an enemy attacks you, the buddy will automatically approach the enemy and begin an onslaught of attacks on them.
Depending upon the situation, the buddy will use the right effective set of combos to inflict a good amount of damage. They will also be able to evade and guard against attacks based on what the situation calls for. Buddies are not immune to damage and can lose HP if they fall prey to attacks, leading to a loss of HP.
Once the buddy loses their entire HP, they will fall to the ground. But fear not, as they can once again immediately join back if the correct measures are taken in time. The buddy will be put into a resurrection standby state. This will last for a certain amount of time, after which they will automatically be revived. You can also choose to revive them quicker if you have the space and time to have them come back quicker.
Grow your Buddy
The best part about allies is the fact that you can upgrade them at the same time as your character. This means that you will not have to start from ground zero after choosing the next character. Keep upgrading them as you play with your selected character and upgrade them simultaneously. So once you switch to that character, the stats remain the same. The growth factors have an effect on the following:
- Basic Status
- Weapon Crafting and Strengthening (The strength of the weapon will remain the same when you take control of the character.)
- Common/Exclusive Abilities
- Level System
You can also share any fashion item with your buddy. Items, depending upon certain factors, can be worn by you or your buddy. While your buddy can interact with certain objects on your path, like ladders, zip lines, or some terrain objects, there are some limitations. They will not be able to open doors, move objects, etc.
