IShowSpeed took up the viral Lip Challenge back in September 2022 keeping the cup on for 15 minutes and it didn’t turn out well for him.
Twitch streamer and YouTuber IShowSpeed is known for his unique streams and wild antics. This has helped him gain the required traction throughout his career. Be it fascination over the football legend Cristiano Ronaldo or breaking his setups from time to time, Speed’s streams know no bounds.
However, one stunt that left everyone shocked and went viral was when he tried the TikTok “lip challenge.” Back in September 2022, IShowSpeed decided to take up the viral Lip Challenge, also known as the “Kylie Lip Challenge.” The challenge involved using a cup or a glass on your lips to create an airlock, which causes lips to swell, resulting in a plump appearance.
Although it was recommended to leave the glass on for just a few minutes, IShowSpeed escalated the challenge. He kept the glass on for an extended duration of 15 minutes. As a result, the experiment took a disastrous turn. His lips ended up being much larger than the challenge intended to achieve. Additionally, it altered his voice. He then said,
“I ruined my life.”
Moreover, IShowSpeed thought that his lips would not go back to normal, and he lost his cool. He also thought of going to the hospital to get it treated. He said,
“What the f**k! What just happened to my lips…Oh my god! I gotta go to the hospital, bruh!”
Most of his fans were left in shock, and in response to his stunt, they shared their concerns. The video went viral, and his fans also mentioned the dangers of the Lip Challenge if it is not carried out cautiously.
A Kid Has Done IShowSpeed’s Lip Challenge
Recently, in December 2024, a kid came across IShowSpeed’s Lip Challenge and decided to take it up. A video has gone viral where a mother records her kids taking up the challenge, and at first, she was confused. Later, her kids told her that they did it because they came across Speed’s video and said, “Because he did it,” pointing toward a YouTube short of Speed doing the challenge.

The mother, who was recording the video, did not understand the challenge at first. Once she understood, she went on to tell her kids that they were doing “st*pid things.” She said,
“So now you’re doing stupid things off YouTube, you’re gonna be stuck with that forever.”
The kid is seen crying hysterically, asking his mother not to take him to school like that the next day. Other X users have shown their concern, saying that it is a dangerous challenge and asking others not to follow what IShowSpeed did.
