Sounding almost like the fabled firekeeper, a woman narrated over familiar visuals flaring across our screens. Full moons, occult sigils, victorian towers – and then the FromSoftware logo as the final piece of the puzzle to put it all together.
The trailer was an announcement for The Duskbloods, a brand new title by FromSoftware for the Nintendo Switch 2 and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. The game will release in 2026, with a lot more information coming up in the next few weeks. But for now, there’s a lot to unpack so let’s get right to it. What Is The Duskbloods?
The Duskbloods is an upcoming Soulslike game developed by FromSoftware exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game features a Victorian setting, much like Bloodborne, and features several elements seen in the 2015 game. Eldritch horrors run about this Victorian setting, and it is up to you to deal with them or die trying.
The Nintendo of America YouTube channel describes The Duskbloods as a “multiplayer” game. Whether this is a multiplayer game in the sense of Elden Ring Nightrein or a standard Soulslike experience with multiplayer, we don’t know. We should have more information on the same on April 4, 2025.

Yes, The Duskbloods is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki himself. While his name was not in the trailer, Nintendo confirmed his involvement as director right after the trailer in the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct livestream. Those skeptical of the non-Miyazaki Souls projects can rest easy with this information.
Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive Set For 2026
The Duskbloods will come exclusively to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. There are no details on what month the title will come out. The end of The Duskbloods trailer shows an “Only for Nintendo Switch 2” tagline. This indicates that the game will only be available on the new Nintendo console. Whether The Duskbloods is a timed exclusive for Switch 2 or a permanent exclusive remains to be seen. For now, the Nintendo Switch 2 is the only way to play Miyazaki’s next big title.

After The Duskbloods trailer played, Nintendo revealed that we’ll be getting more details on the new FromSoftware title from Hidetaka Miyazaki himself later in the week.
