Popular Twitch streamer Pokimane, also known as Imane Anys, shared a scary medical condition where she had to undergo extensive testing for potential breast cancer. Imane joined the streaming platform in 2013 and has had a large audience ever since. On November 4, she posted a YouTube video where she shared her emotional experience after she felt a lump in her chest. This prompted her doctor to take two biopsies.

In the video, Pokimane also mentioned that she had undergone a lumpectomy previously to remove a breast lump. Now, a similar health scare appeared again, which stressed her out a lot. She revealed that the MRI she went through was claustrophobic for her and that the doctors had to insert a metal marker near the lump, which made her extremely uneasy. She said, “When they first told me, I was like, umm, no!”

Once she got her results, she took them to her gynaecologist but the doctor found it difficult to read some part of her chest. So, Pokimane was asked to get an ultrasound to better understand her condition. Unfortunately, even that did not help much. The results were uncertain, and this made Imane anxious and stressed out. She mentioned that she had trouble sleeping unless she got her final diagnosis.

Eventually, Pokimane received her diagnosis, which revealed that the lump she had years ago had grown back. Fortunately, it was non-cancerous. She said, “I was relieved, cried out a little bit.” After this frightening experience, Pokimane encouraged her followers to take care of themselves and get tested if there were any health doubts. She urged her followers to take routine tests for cancer.

Pokimane Previously Revealed PCOS Diagnosis

Pokimane previously spoke up about her PCOS diagnosis during a podcast in May 2024. In the podcast with Trisha Paytas, she also encouraged her viewers to seek medical help if they experience any symptoms of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. It is a hormonal imbalance caused when the ovaries produce excessive amounts of androgens. It can lead to irregular periods, acne, excessive hair growth, and infertility.

Imane revealed that she had irregular periods her whole life, but PCOS was diagnosed in her mid-twenties. She said, “I have been talking to doctors about it my whole life. It’s cr*zy to me that it was only until literally my mid-twenties that a doctor actually said, ‘Oh, it’s because you have PCOS.” She added that her symptoms are hormonally sensitive and that she needs to take good care of her body or she won’t get her period.

Pokimane claimed that her doctors asked her to take birth control pills to regulate her periods. However, she wanted to let it happen naturally and “understand what was going on with her body.” It took her a year since her diagnosis to speak out about it. She was scared of being judged and feeling ashamed to share her medical condition with her audience.
