IShowSpeed has created a separate fan base for himself over the years. People are captivated by his unique and unusual tactics and reactions during his live streams. He is a popular Twitch Streamer, YouTuber, and a football athlete. In 2021, he gained a staggering 1 million followers within a few days. He was only 16 years old at the time, and this made him one of the youngest creators with the fastest-growing YouTube channel.

With over 40 million subscribers across all his channels and 5 billion views on his videos, IShowSpeed is one of the most followed YouTubers. He gained notable recognition when his fans started circulating comedic clips of Speed that later turned out to become viral memes.

These clips included IShowSpeed’s interaction with Outfit7’s Talking Ben. Additionally, this is considered to be one of his most popular endeavors. Due to his streams, he helped revitalize the app and made it hit #1 on App Store.

In his livestreams, he mostly plays PlayStation games such as Fortnite, NBA 2K21, Five Night At Freddy’s 4, and FIFA. Though he plays on his console, he has not limited himself to it. Speed has played a variety of games on his PC, mobile, and Nintendo 3DS.

IShowSpeed’s Channel Strikes

On July 22, 2022, Speed received his first channel strike the same day he hit 10 million subscribers. He received the strike for showing a s*xual Minecraft mod on his screen and he was unable to upload videos for 7 days on his channel.

Later, IShowSpeed received his second Community Guidelines strike by YouTube on December 21, 2022, for cyberbullying and harassment. Darren was arguing with a person on Omegle and ended up joking about the person’s weight.
He was angry because YouTube had given him a strike for something he usually does. He was not allowed to upload for the next 14 days. Later, he said that he would stream less on this account to avoid getting a third strike.

A few months later on February 27, 2023, IShowSpeed received his third and final strike. He mentioned that the strike was due to the FIFA Ballon d’Or going on at the time of his livestream and he decided to pull it up for tens and thousands of viewers to watch.
He later revealed that he would not be streaming on his main channel and said a final goodbye to his audience. Despite this, he still continued to stream on his main channel.

Darren’s ways of hosting his streams are quite unusual. You can see IShowSpeed barking, roaring, shouting, or even twerking at the webcam for no specific reason. Apart from streaming, he is also part of the music industry and has collaborated with various artists. His most popular song “Shake” gained 40 million views in the first 3 months since its release in November 2021.
