When Does Marvel Rivals Season 1 Start

Marvel Rivals was released on the 6th of December 2024, with its “first” season. No, the game didn’t start off with Season 1. Instead, the first season in question was named Season 0, Doom’s Rise!

Through in-game lore via the Seasonal Event and all that we could read about the Timestream Entanglement, Doom’s arrival in the game is imminent. Hopefully, Season 1 will have more details on the same. But when will it come to the game?

The developers haven’t yet given us an official date for the release of S1 across all zones and platforms. However, we can expect the same at the end of S0. So, when is it ending? There is one hint at that within Marvel Rivals itself.

If you are hooked to the game’s Seasonal Events, you have found a countdown on the top left of the screen in the Event tab. This timer tells us when the event will close. And if S0 is supposed to have only one Seasonal Event, which it probably is, then S0 is ending on January 2, 2025. Some time around 7:30 AM PST. This is when Season 1 can kick off, bringing the latest updates to life.

What We Know About Marvel Rivals Season 1 So Far

Season 1 will be a fresh start since the release of the game. Marvel Rivals started off with Season 0, which introduced Doom’s Rise plotline to us. Now, S1 is likely to expand on the foundation, giving us some more story content.

This story content will come in the form of Seasonal Events. S0 only had one seasonal event (excluding Winter Celebration because that was not part of the game lore). That’s because S0 was only supposed to kick things off and would last roughly 1 month. The rest of the seasons, however, are expected to last around 3 months each. These events, much like Entangled Moments, will also give us Gallery Cards upon certain mission completions, which are automatically applied in the Read Comics section.

Apart from this, there have been rumors of new characters and maps. These are different from the ones that were leaked at the beginning of S0. The likes of them included Ultron, Blade, Human Torch, and some other Fantastic 4 members. Ability Kits for some of these have also been leaked.

If these new characters do arrive in Marvel Rivals Season 1, we will also have some more hilarious and sincere dialogue lines between some of these characters along with new Team-up abilities and new buffs.
