Gigantamax Snorlax is set to make its first appearance in Pokemon GO during Max Battle Day. The event will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. This special battle event will feature six-star Max Battles where you can capture Gigantamax Snorlax. A Shiny variant may also appear if you are lucky.

Max Battle Day in Pokemon GO: Bonuses

Several gameplay bonuses will be active throughout the Max Battle Day event hours. The Max Particle collection limit will increase to 1,600. You will get a higher refresh rate at Power Spots, which gives more frequent access to Gigantamax Battles.

Every Power Spot will feature Gigantamax Battles. Power Spots will reward eight times the usual amount of Max Particles so that you can accumulate resources quickly. Trading will also receive a boost during the event. You will have access to two additional Special Trades, making it easier to exchange Pokemon with friends.

Extra bonuses will be available on April 19 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this period, exploration will yield double Max Particles, and the distance required to receive Max Particles will be reduced to one-fourth of the usual requirement. However, these exploration-based bonuses will only activate after all Max Particles from the Nearby menu have been collected.

Timed Research and Battle Preparation

Timed Research will be available from April 16 at 6:00 p.m. to April 19 at 5:00 p.m. You have to complete the research to encounter Dynamax Pokemon that can perform well against Gigantamax Snorlax in Pokemon GO. Rewards will include Candy and Max Particles.

This Timed Research will expire once the event ends. You must complete all tasks and claim rewards before 5:00 p.m. on April 19. A Shiny Dynamax Machop may also appear.

Event Ticket Details

You can purchase an event-exclusive Timed Research ticket for US$5.00 (or local equivalent). The ticket provides additional in-game rewards and benefits.

• Max Particle collection limit increased to 5,600

Trainers can buy tickets for themselves or gift them to Great Friends or higher in Pokemon GO. Ticket sales will remain open until 4:00 p.m. local time on April 19. Purchases are non-refundable and you cannot purchase using PokeCoins.

The Max Mushroom item will provide a temporary damage boost in Max Battles. When used, it doubles all damage dealt by Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon. If multiple Max Mushrooms are used in succession, the effect will last longer, but the damage multiplier will remain the same.
