Now that Marvel Rivals has announced Season 3, The Abyss Awakens, let’s explore how long we will have to wait for its release.
Marvel Rivals recently released the trailer for Season 3. The upcoming season is called The Abyss Awakens and will feature Knull as the primary villain. Season 3 will bring in some interesting Balance Changes, new cosmetics, and a fresh map along with a new character. Phoenix will take the fight to Knull as another “primal force of the universe.”
But when will the new season kick off? Players can expect Season 3 to come to their preferred gaming platforms starting July 11, 2025 UTC.
How Long Will Marvel Rivals Season 3 Last?
When July 11, 2025, arrives, there will be a server downtime. Players will then have to download the new update and wait for the server maintenance to be completed. Once Season 3 has started, the mid-season will swing by eventually. This will happen at around one month from July 11, though the final date is yet to be confirmed by NetEase Games. After one month from the release of Season 3 in Marvel Rivals, we will get Season 3.5 that will introduce Blade as a playable hero.
But when will this entire season come to a close? The entirety of Season 3 will end two months from its release in July. Earlier, both Season 1 and Season 2 lasted around three months each. However, the new update schedule will see shorter seasons. Each season will last two months only. This means that we will get a mid-season each month. Thanks to this schedule, players will get fresh content like new maps and heroes each month!
In Season 3, we are getting Phoenix as a new Duelist, and a Domination map on Klyntar called the Celestial Husk. There will be a new Battlepass to accomodate fresh skins. It’s safe to say that the theme will heavily be centered around Symbiotes and the Phoenix Force.
