Dammon the Infernal Mechanic, who is tied to the Karlach storyline, appears at different locations in all three acts of the game.
Dammon is a blacksmith and trader in Baldur’s Gate 3. He is the only Infernal Mechanic in the game. The NPC is important as he helps players upgrade infernal weapons and gear, which opens up new gameplay possibilities. Dammon is also a crucial NPC in Karlach’s questline.
In this guide, we shall go over the locations where the Infernal mechanic is found across the three acts of the game. We will also explore his connection to Karlach.
Where to Find Dammon the Infernal Mechanic
Act 1
You will find the Infernal Mechanic in the Hollow in Act 1 of the game. Go near the Emerald Clove and work your way northwest. Dammon will be at a makeshift forge within the Druid’s Alcove at (X:178, Y:563).
Act 2
Dammon is at the stables in the Last Light Inn during Act 2 of the story. Go north from the east end of the Shadow-Cursed Lands. Walk along the lake to find the inn. The lake is hard to miss due to the mist surrounding it. The inn is located here at (X:-33, Y:165).
Act 3
The Infernal Smith’s last hideout is at the Forge of the Nine in Baldur’s Gate Act 3. The forge lies at the center of the triangle formed by the Devil’s Fee, the Graveyard, and the Wine Festival.
Be careful not to kill Dammon if you want to advance Karlach’s questline. If you kill him, he will not respawn, and you’ll be locked out of the quest as well as weapon and gear upgrades.
Dammon and Karlach
Karlach is one of the companion characters you can have in your party in Baldur’s Gate 3. The tiefling has an infernal engine planted in her chest due to the time she spent in the Nine Hells. This device is bringing her closer and closer to death, and Dammon may just have the solution.
Find Dammon in all three acts of the game as he knows how to deal with the infernal engine and stabilize Karlach’s condition. Interacting with the mechanic also allows the tiefling to open up and reveal more of her backstory.
