If you want to break through locked doors and loot chests, you will need many lockpicks. However, you might struggle to find this item consistently. So, here is where to get lockpicks using the fastest and most consistent methods in Oblivion Remastered.
Where To Find Lockpicks in Oblivion Remastered
Lockpicks are found in a number of spots throughout the map. Moreover, you can also buy them from certain vendors (if you know where to look). This is because upstanding merchants don’t usually sell lockpicks to help you break into places.
However, there are still a few ways to obtain this item. You can loot them off of other bandits and thieves. They are usually found in chests around these bandit camps or dungeons as well.
On the other hand, this is not the most consistent method to obtain lockpicks, and instead you can buy it if you run low on the item.

Where To Buy Lockpicks in Oblivion Remastered
The first of these vendors is Shady Sam. True to his name, he deals in stolen goods. You can find him lurking outside the Imperial City walls, as indicated in the image above. Shady Sam will have 30 lockpicks for you to buy, so you can stock up when you’re near the city.
If you require even more lockpicks, you have to join the Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood. Both these quests unlock more vendors to deal with you. Joining the Thieves Guild will let you buy lockpicks from Armand Christophe.
These lockpicks will be useful until you hit Level 11. Once you reach that threshold, you can acquire the Skeleton Key, which is one of the best items in the game. The Skeleton Key acts as an unbreakable lockpick, making your lockpicking attempts much easier.
