You will come across Gift of Gab in the Silver Tongue side quests of Where Winds Meet. Here, the game pushes you into a debate instead of a physical fight. It’s actually a mini-game. You have to talk your way through problems by playing dialogue cards. Each card hits the opponent’s health bar, and the whole match runs off an inspiration system that limits how often you can respond. If your final card knocks out their last bit of health, you win.

Gift of Gab shows up in exploration, side content, and even a core career path, so you run into it several times across the map.

Overview of Gift of Gab Mechanics in Where Winds Meet

Gift of Gab works like a small duel built around cards and resource control. You start with a fixed inspiration pool, and every card you pick drains a specific number of points. You choose a card each round, watch the opponent counter, and keep going until one of you hits zero health. Some cards hit harder but cost more inspiration, while others deal small damage but let you stretch your pool longer.

Because inspiration does not refill mid-debate, you treat each choice as part of the entire fight, not just a single turn.

How To Play Gift of Gab in Where Winds Meet

You draw a set of dialogue cards at the start of the debate. You choose one each turn based on cost, effect, and the current flow of the match. For example:

  • A low-cost card might use only 1 or 2 inspiration points.
  • Heavy cards can cost 3 or 4 but chunk a bigger part of the opponent’s health.
  • Your inspiration bar might start around a fixed number (depending on talents), so every decision matters.

Once your pool hits zero, you are stuck using whatever affordable cards you have left. If the opponent still has plenty of inspiration, you fall behind fast.

This is why pacing plays a big role.
