Qianye the Witch is a hard, multi-phased boss you have to defeat as part of the main story of Where Winds Meet.
Qianye the Witch is a main story boss you must defeat to reach Chapter 2 of Where Winds Meet. This is one of the toughest challenges you will face at this point, and so, you should be prepared accordingly.

Where Winds Meet: Qianye the Witch Boss Guide
Qianye is the final boss of Chapter 1 of Where Winds Meet, Heaven Has No Pier. She will be fought during the ‘For Whom Does He Return‘ sub quest. Defeating this boss will let you progress onto the next chapter, which will unlock a whole new region.
Qianye the Witch Moveset in Where Winds Meet
Qianye has three phases in this fight, each harder than the previous one. Her main attacks to watch out for are:
Phase 1: Qianye
The moves used by Qianye during the first phase are:
- Upwards Slash: She will quickly dash towards you and slash upwards.
- She also has a variation of this, where she slashes at you multiple times.
- Crescent Slash: Qianye vanishes into red mist. After a while, she reappears and slashes the area around her in a crescent shape.
- Air Slashes: The boss jumps into the air and hovers briefly. From here, she unleashes successive slashes that travel in a straight line.
- Scythe Toss: This is another aerial attack she can perform. She hovers in the air and tosses her weapon that travels like a boomerang.
- After this attack is over, she crashes into the center of the arena with a big impact.
- Brutal Slashes: The boss charges up before unleashing repeated slashes in front of her.
Phase 2: Qianye the Witch
Her moveset changes a bit compared to the first phase. The new moves are:
- Dash and Slash: Qianye moves forward and slashes once. This repeats one more time before she dashes behind you and performs a series of slashes.
- Hovering Slash: She jumps up and performs two variations of slashes.
- One is unblockable.
- The other is unblockable and cannot be parried. Watch for the color of the light and respond accordingly.
- Once she reaches 50% health, she will jump and slam the ground in a fiery explosion. This will transition into the final phase.

The Panacea Fan will be crucial for this boss fight, which can become extremely lengthy. Other than this, you can use the Sword (Nameless or Strategic) or the Umbrella, as per your preference.

- Threefold Skywalk
- Leaping Toad
Tips and Tricks To Defeat Qianye the Witch in Where Winds Meet
Follow these steps to have an easy time against this boss:
- For the first phase, you have Yi Dao’s aid. So, you have some breathing room, allowing her to attack him instead.
- Many of Qianye’s attacks are horizontal, or ground-based slashes. You can easily vault over these and get close.
- Threefold Skywalk is present for this purpose, to help you jump in the air and avoid damage.
- You need to practice your parry timings for the last phase of the fight. It will be crucial not only for counterattacking but for surviving and regenerating health.
- You fight her at Level 28, so try to at least match her level, or exceed her a bit. Also, ensure to level up your weapons and gear simultaneously as well.
