How To Upgrade the Medicine Chest in Where Winds Meet
There’s a very specific spot on the map where you’ll need to go to upgrade the Medicine Chest. Thankfully, you can access this location during Chapter 1 of the game itself. The location we’re referring to is the Evercare Clinic. It’s in Qinghe’s Moonveil Mountain region. Located close to Heaven’s Pier, you’ll organically visit the spot while trying to complete the Far Shores dungeon. Once you visit this area, make sure to also activate the Courier Post nearby. This will open up a fast travel point, allowing you to easily return to the clinic later on.
Simply visiting the location isn’t enough, though. Once there, you have to speak with Yao Yaoyao. The NPC will help you upgrade the Medicine Chest if you have the necessary Medicinal Tales upgrade material.

How To Acquire Medicinal Tales
You can get Medicinal Tales, the upgrade material necessary to improve the Medicine Chest, by completing certain open-world activities and challenges. For instance, completing side quests is a great way to get your hands on the Medicinal Tales. Similarly, raiding Outposts spread out across the map is another effective way of accumulating the material in question. However, keep in mind that each Outpost you successfully raid will reward you with just one such Medicinal Tale. So, you might need to raid several before you can save up enough of these items for a Medicine Chest upgrade.
Why Should You Upgrade the Medicine Chest
If you’re wondering why you even need to upgrade the Medicine Chest, there are two major reasons:
- Each Medicine Chest upgrade will increase the number of Wound Balms you can carry. The higher this number, the more healing you’ll have available while pursuing activities in the world.
- Besides the sheer number of Wound Balms, the upgrades also often increase the amount of healing you receive from each balm.
