This guide looks at all of the available elemental offerings in Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) before providing you with a suggestion for the best one.
When playing Act 2 of Path of Exile 2, you might come across the option to choose an elemental offering and some players may completely miss it owing to the large maps of the game. If you haven’t found it yet, make sure to head to the Buried Shrines map near Keth. That’s where you’ll eventually get the elemental offerings. You can choose from three elemental offerings in the game, each providing you with different elemental resistances.
The Offering of Fire is the best choice if you are considering the boss fight that’s coming up in that section. However, other choices also make sense depending on your existing resistance percentages. In this guide, we’ll learn more about the elemental offerings in Path of Exile 2 and determine which of them is the best depending on your situation.
What Are Elemental Offerings?
Elemental offerings are special rings that you can get in the game. Wearing these rings provides you with resistance to a specific element, depending on the nature of the ring. When you get to the particular room in the Buried Shrines map, you’ll discover three vases. Each will contain a ring of elemental offering within them. Here are the three options available to you.
- Sapphire ring for Offering of Water (cold resistance)
- Ruby ring for Offering of Fire
- Topaz ring for Offering of Lightning
You’ll gain +25% resistance to the element whose ring you choose. For instance, picking the Offering of Lightning will give you an additional 25% resistance to lightning attacks. Keep in mind that even with the rings equipped, you cannot exceed the maximum resistance of 75% for any of the elements. Also, you can identify the rings only if they are of at least Blue rarity. However, you might get lucky and find these rings in higher rarities as well.

Choosing the Right Elemental Offering in Path of Exile 2
It is extremely important to raise all three elemental resistances in the game. However, if you think about what’s to come immediately after in Act 2, you’ll probably want to opt for the Offering of Fire ring. That’s because you’ll soon run into Azarian the Forsaken Son, a boss that uses fire attacks to deal damage. With the resistance to fire, you can perform much better in this particular battle.
However, if your fire resistance is already close to the upper limit of 75%, we’d suggest looking at your character stats. Figure out which of the other two resistances you lack most and pick that one instead. Keep in mind that as you progress through the game’s different acts and difficulties, you’ll receive penalties based on your resistance. So, it makes sense to fortify all of the elemental resistances as early as you can.
