One character who is not talked enough about in Marvel Rivals is Galacta. She is one of the recurring faces outside every match and a recurring voice that happens to be in every match. The reason behind her omnipresence is the fact that she is Galactus’ daughter. But how did she come into existence? And what is her role in Marvel Rivals? We will discuss all of it here today.

For starters, know that she is the same person who narrates your matches in the game and also happens to be the one who oversees the Battle Passes. She is observing the Timestream Entanglement closely but does not interfere. This is why she is not a playable character. However, there are many reasons why her participation wouldn’t make sense; we will explore them all shortly. Kindly note that all the facts mentioned here are taken either from the comics or from the lore that the game provided.

Where is Galacta From?

Marvel Rivals doesn’t tell us about Galacta’s origin. However, since she is a cosmic entity, there is believed to be only one origin because there aren’t supposed to be any variants. Born as Gali, she didn’t have a mother because she was born out of a parasite in Galactus’ belly. Following this event, she started living as a human on earth. However, she was cursed with the same insatiable hunger that her father had. But she decided to do something about it rather than devour each world.

With access to the same technology as her father and even the same strength as him, Galacta found that she could munch on things that were harming other beings rather than being selfish about her needs. So, she started eating viruses and harmful tech as meals to make sure no worlds are harmed. This is where her Marvel Rivals lore comes in.

Galacta’s Role in Marvel Rivals

If she has found a way to keep her hunger at bay, what is Galacta doing in Marvel Rivals? The answer is that Gali is the complete opposite of her father and likes to help people out. She is in Marvel Rivals to oversee the Timestream Entanglement and guide our heroes. She doesn’t see it fit to fight. So, all she does is observe the event. Since the timelines have merged and all heroes are battling the chaos, Galacta has the perfect opportunity to seize the moment and devour things that otherwise would go to waste and even get rid of things like Chronovium.

We are not sure about how a Chronovium would taste, but the in-game lore suggests that The Devourer’s Daughter really seems to enjoy it. NetEase Games will probably add to her story as we move further into different seasons. But so far, her presence in Marvel Rivals makes perfect sense.
