Streamer Destiny is alleged to have had an affair with Lauren Southern, a Canadian alt-right YouTuber, political activist, and commentator.
YouTube and Kick streamer Steven “Destiny” is again in the headlines due to his personal life. The streamer was married to Swedish Twitch streamer Melina Goransson (before filing for divorce in December 2023). Famously, the duo publicly admitted to being in an open relationship. For those unaware of this term, an open relationship is where both partners mutually agree to have relations with other individuals.
On November 20, 2024, Melina went live on her official Twitch account to allege that his former husband Destiny had an affair with Lauren Southern. Southern is a Canadian YouTuber (710K subscribers), often regarded as an alt-right one. She has been active in the political scene, having run as a Libertarian Party candidate in the Canadian federal election in 2015.
Southern has also had a lot of backlash against her for her online takes. She has previously been accused of promoting alt-right ideas such as the “Great Replacement” and “white genocide” conspiracy theories. Southern has also been accused of running with anti-feminist ideas. She controversially stated that women are “not psychologically developed to hold leadership positions.” In 2019, however, she announced that she would “retire” from political activism.
Southern publicly revealed that she had separated from her husband in June 2023. She has a son.
What Is the Recent Drama Involving Destiny and Lauren Southern?
On November 20, 2024, Melina Goransson claimed that Destiny had an affair with YouTuber Lauren Southern. Addressing the matter, she further alleged (referring to Destiny leaking her text messages):
“Last year, he leaked a message of mine that I sent to someone I thought was my friend. And, in that message, I mentioned Lauren. You know, I mentioned her because there was a lot of stuff going on, obviously. Like, this is something we already know. I don’t really know why people are speculating. Like, I think people can just put the puzzle pieces together, like, really easily. If they just look at, ‘Okay, these things happened.'”
Melina also disclosed that she had questioned Destiny about his relationship with Lauren Southern. However, he allegedly dismissed her concerns, claiming she was simply being “jealous.” She said:
“I even mentioned, and then, people asked about it, and then he said that I… got jealous because they streamed so much. That’s not really what happened. I feel like it’s pretty clear to who is not being honest here of what actually happened. There are so many things and so many people have said what happened, and if he wants to deny that, fine.”
