Phoenix is the latest debutant in Marvel Rivals, and if you’re wondering who is the voice behind the mutant, we’re here to answer.
Marvel Rivals has been running hot for well over half a year, and the game is now looking to heat things further with Season 3: The Abyss Awakens. The Abyss Awakens brings a ton of new content with it, including a new map, balancing adjustments, new events, a battle pass, and so much more. The star of the show, however, is the new hero joining the roster: Phoenix.
Phoenix, or Jean Grey, is a character that needs little to no introduction. The popular X-Men character has been one of the most powerful characters in the comics since her introduction. Jean Grey now carries over that same reputation to Marvel Rivals in the confines of the Duelist Role.
More so than her reputation, Phoenix also brings in a pretty memorable performance. You may be inclined to think that developer NetEase may have gotten Dutch actress Famke Janssen to reprise her role as Jean Grey, but that is not the case. Crystal Lee is the voice actor of Phoenix in Marvel Rivals. Lee’s performance takes a lot of cues from Janssen’s portrayal of Phoenix, as we last saw her in X-Men: The Last Stand. We shall discuss Lee and her work in detail below.

As stated earlier, Crystal Lee is the voice of Phoenix in Marvel Rivals. While Lee takes cues from Janssen’s portrayal of Phoenix, she is no stranger to voice acting herself. Lee has been voice acting since 2014, with her first credited role being in the popular MOBA game SMITE. In SMITE, Lee is credited with voicing Oni Adventurer Athena and High Honor Mulan.
Lee also has a ton of experience working for other games. Her other credited work in video games includes titles such as Solo Leveling: ARISE, Another Crab’s Treasure, Zenless Zone Zero, Visions of Man, Farmagia, UNICORN Overlord, and many other video games. Her most prominent role as a voice actor is her performance as Gina in the popular anime Solo Leveling. If her past roles are anything to go by, we can expect her to deliver solid performances as Jean Grey over the upcoming seasons of Marvel Rivals.
