Erobb221 had to restart his 1,000-piece puzzle challenge after viewers accused him of cheating during the live stream.
Viewers accused Twitch streamer Eric “Erobb221” of cheating during his Black Puzzle Challenge stream, sparking controversy. The streamer was forced to restart his progress after over 30+ hours. Eric was reportedly playing full-screen YouTube videos and made suspicious progress. Eric started solving the puzzle on January 16 and embarked on a marathon stream that he could not end until the puzzle was solved. Tyler1’s brother admitted that he used letters to cheat during the puzzle.
“Listen, there’s been times where I’ve used the letters, okay? Sometimes… listen… sometimes… listen… listen. I’m not restarting. Go f**k yourself.”
Erobb221 had previously restarted the puzzle after finding out that he had been solving the puzzle wrong. The Black Puzzle Challenge is a task involving the completion of an entirely black jigsaw puzzle, typically with 1,000 or more pieces. Due to the lack of significant colors and images, the puzzle is more difficult to solve. After a while, Eric resets the whole puzzle in a feat of rage.
After he was confronted by the viewers, Eric apologized stating that it was a mistake. In the stream, Erobb221 said:
“I’m an idiot bro, why did I do that! Why! It was a mistake man I apologize, I’m sorry. I apologize, it was a stupid mistake”
Reddit Reacts to Erobb221’s Puzzle Controversy
After clips from the stream went viral on Reddit’s r/LivestreamFails subreddit, several users commented on the situation. Many expressed their disappointment at Eric’s “mistake” while others pointed out that he had been cheating throughout his stream. Some Redditors also compared the situation to PirateSoftware’s puzzle stream which several streamers called him out on.
As of this writing, the post has gotten over 1.2K upvotes and over 100 comments. Some comments on the Reddit post stated:
“He has been playing youtube videos fullscreen for the past 3 hours, and made suspiously fast progress during this time. Chat called him out for using the lettering on the back of the pieces, and the sc*mbag admits to it.” wrote bwhipps.
“One of the many examples of him doing this. Can’t do one thing with integrity in his life. Too dumb to even try to hide it too.” commented @MisterDankton.
“I suggest we redirect all the hate threads from PirateSoftware to this guy.” stated @Aggravating_Egg5545.
