Rainbow Six Siege X’s Operation Daybreak may have had a hot start, but it stumbled across its first hurdle this past week. Over the past few days, the PvP shooter has been suffering from a game-breaking bug that has caused several crashes for players.

Ubisoft seems to have fixed the issue, and if you hopped into a ranked game recently, you would have noticed that you are unable to pick Castle. Castle has been deactivated in the game and has a repair icon next to his operator button.

Castle is a defense staple in popular sites such as 2F Bank, 2F Kafe, 1F Kafe, Clubhouse Gym, and many more. This makes him being deactivated sting all the more in the long run, especially if you were looking forward to the Siege Cup this weekend.

If you’re wondering why Castle has been deactivated, it all ties back to the crashes from the past week. We shall discuss this in detail below.

As stated earlier, Rainbow Six Siege X players have been reporting crashes during their games for the past few days. These crashes were prevalent mostly in ranked matches. Additionally, the players would crash during the prep phase. Moreover, their game simply wouldn’t launch on restart. This would result in ongoing matches ending prematurely, and the players involved would then receive an abandon penalty, resulting in multiple bans.

Now, it turns out that Castle was the culprit behind these crashes. Castle players would use the exploit to get the game to crash, resulting in the match being canceled. If you were up against a shady player, they would wait till the final round to use the exploit—much to the frustration of the legit players.

Ubisoft identified the issue and took the matter to X, thanking all players for reporting the issue. To address the situation immediately, they declared that they would be disabling the operator. Castle is now deactivated in the Ranked, Unranked, and Siege Cup playlists.
