A recent controversy is resulting in the Ho-Oh/Lugia immersive cards into changing in Pokemon TCG Pocket. Here is everything to know.

The upcoming pack for Pokemon TCG Pocket, Wisdom of Sea and Sky, is facing a new controversy. This revolves around the Ho-Oh/Lugia immersive cards, which have been retracted for issues seemingly related to copying another’s work.
When the new cards for the upcoming pack were shown, many fans noticed that the new immersive cards looked similar to a fan art piece. Some said that the resemblance was almost too strong to be a coincidence. This eventually resulted in the developers issuing a notice to change both cards. Here is everything we know about this so far.

Ho-Oh’s pose being similar to the fan art, has been a topic of conversation for some time now. However, Lugia’s card did not show any resemblance to other art pieces (at least until now). So, we can only surmise that there is another reason for this card also being changed.
Both immersive cards were closely linked to each other. The immersive cards were designed to keep both Legendaries in one frame. However, this would no longer have been possible with Ho-Oh’s card being changed.
So, Lugia’s card is likely being changed as well to fit the newly designed Ho-Oh card.

According to the official notice, the artist who was commissioned to draw Ho-Oh received incorrect reference material from the card production team. These incorrect materials were cited as official documents, which resulted in this entire issue being created.
To resolve this problem, temporary placeholder art has been put on the immersive cards. These will be changed sometime in the future with new immersive artwork whenever it is ready. However, we do not have a proper release date for when this will happen.
That was everything to know about the controversy surrounding Ho-Oh and Lugia for Pokemon TCG Pocket, and why they will be changing because of this.
