Adin Ross has been banned from Twitch a number of times before but he faced a permanent ban in February 2023. He had become a famous Twitch streamer and gained 7.25 million followers on the Amazon-owned platform. He previously faced multiple disciplinary actions from Twitch and had been suspended 8 times.

When Twitch banned him, they did not offer clear information about the reason behind it. This sparked concerns and major discussions in the streaming community. Adin Ross later said, responding to the ban, that he had already signed a deal with Kick. This indicated that getting banned from Kick was not a major concern for him. Initially, when the ban was being discussed, the reason behind it caused a lot of confusion.

As claimed by Adin Ross, he received a threatening phone call from a senior Twitch executive warning him of an indefinite ban if he did not make the required changes to his content. Later it was revealed by Twitch that he was suspended due to “hateful conduct.” Adin had accidentally shown his unmoderated Kick chat on Twitch, which showed antisemitic and racist messages sent by the viewers.

Adin was furious and said that Twitch does not ban because of the chat content as many streamers’ chats get regularly filled with offensive language. He also stated that the ban was mainly a punishment for showing Kick chat during a Twitch stream. It is unclear when the ban will be lifted.

Adin Ross Pleading To Lift The Ban

Due to the ban, Adin Ross is unable to collaborate with other creators. In April 2024, he pleaded through a Kick stream, for Twitch to lift his ban and apologized for his actions. He said:

“Twitch, I’m genuinely sorry from the bottom of my heart. Can you please unban me,” he said. “One more chance bro, I just want to collab with my favorite people. Please.”

It is unclear if Twitch ever intends to lift the ban. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy revealed in late 2023 that they are looking to give pre-banned streamers “another chance.” They are also planning to improve Twitch’s ban system and provide better transparency than before to the streaming community.

Clancy also mentioned that Adin Ross’ ban being lifted also depends on him demonstrating genuine behavioral changes. Following Twitch reversals of previous bans, Clancy is open to a conversation with Adin, considering granting another chance but there will be strict conditions that the streamer would need to follow.

Recently, in November 2024, Twitch streamer Kai Cenat announced that he would try to get Adin Ross’ Twitch ban lifted one last time. This happened when Adin mentioned that he might not where he would stream next. This flamed rumors that he might be changing streaming platforms again. When Kai got to know about his rift with Kick, he said during a stream that he would try to get the ban lifted one last time. He said,

“Wait so this ni**a, hold on, this ni**a Adin is banned from Kick? Chat I am going to try one more time. I am going to try one more time to get him unbanned. I am going to try one last time, bro, on Twitch. I am going to try one last time brother.”
