Pirate Software was banned from the OnlyFangs World of Warcraft guild for allegedly making other members “uncomfortable.”

Twitch streamer Jason “Thor” Hall, popularly known as Pirate Software, was streaming World of Warcraft (WoW) Classic’s Hardcore mode with other streamers on January 12, 2025. During the stream, he made an alleged mistake during a raid that got two Twitch streamers who go by Sara and Snupy killed in-game.
Pirate is a member of the OnlyFangs, which is a streamer-only World of Warcraft guild run by Twitch streamer Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris. Sodapoppin assessed the situation and decided not to take action. However, after the incident, Pirate Software claimed that he received a “hate train” of death threats and disruptive messages from the WoW community on his stream.
Pirate said on stream that he would get these users banned from WoW by contacting his former Blizzard colleagues. He worked at Blizzard for seven years and said that anyone sending death threats would get banned in-game. Pirate put out a public statement regarding the alleged harassment but was banned by OnlyFangs for making other members “uncomfortable.”
Pirate Software Defends His Stance
Sodapoppin had initially decided against banning Pirate Software. However, the controversy escalated on January 14, 2025, with Pirate allegedly receiving death threats. The streamer and his staff allegedly banned thousands of Twitch users from the channel to curb the situation. Sodapoppin eventually banned Pirate Software. He said in the OnlyFangs Discord group that Pirate’s presence made others uncomfortable, which led to the ban.

Pirate Software defended its stance to contact Blizzard directly. He claimed that people were sharing out-of-context clips. In a tweet, he shared some in-game messages where players threatened to harm the streamer and his family. He added:
“We’ve received hundreds of messages like these both in and out of game along with thousands of meme messages trying to disrupt the stream on over 10,000 accounts. It’s been a three-day-long hate train and the entire staff and myself have had to handle it all. Many other creators keep trying to push it more while claiming it’s “Just Content”. Community is f*cking unhinged.”

Many other creators…
The streamer said that things have gone too far and the community needs to “stop feeding into it.” He returned to streaming WoW Classic but is no longer part of the OnlyFangs guild.
Sodapoppin Issues Statement on Pirate’s Ban
Sodapoppin issued a statement on the official OnlyFangs server explaining his decision to ban the streamer. According to him, a “large majority of people” in the guild felt uncomfortable around Pirate and all the drama surrounding him. Sodapoppin added:
“I think I’m making the right decision but still, I feel bad. Try to just let this whole thing slide into forgetfulness and move on imo (in my opinion). Stay safe gamers.”

The ban has left the WoW community divided. Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt showed support for Pirate Software. Asmongold acknowledged that Pirate made some mistakes, but he disagreed with the ban and the controversy the situation has caused.
