As stated earlier, Wildgate is a PvP game with extraction elements mixed in. A standard match in Wildgate begins with you spawning in a ship with your team of 4. Each person in your team has a role to fulfill. One person has to pilot the ship, while the others are in charge of leading the offense and defending the ship. The pilot then has to take you to the POIs, where you’ll find tons of loot and ship upgrades to make you stronger.

As you go about exploring space in your ship, you also have to fend off enemies. You’ll engage in ship-to-ship combat, but your team is free to go off-board and raid enemy ships. Think of it like the PvP elements seen in Sea of Thieves.

As the ship warfare rages on, you’ll then be notified of the Artifact. This is your main objective in any match of Wildgate. You have to retrieve the Artifact and extract it through a Wildgate. Whichever team manages to successfully extract with the Artifact wins the game. If that’s not an option, your next best bet to win is to destroy the ships of every other team and be the last ship standing.
