Wildgate throws you right into the middle of intense space battles. Ships fly about, and Prospectors zoom through the air blasting their guns. There’s not a moment to rest, that is, unless your ship’s fuel runs out. Then, you’re just a helpless sitting duck waiting to be finished off.

Managing your ship’s fuel is an important part of the gameplay loop in Wildgate. Lots of players pay attention to the ship’s HP and completely neglect the fuel needed to perform tasks. If you check your fuel and find it to be on the lower end, you have to act immediately, and there are a few ways to collect fuel. If you’re unfamiliar with these ways, our guide will help you out.

As stated earlier, your ship needs to be appropriately fueled if you intend to perform tasks smoothly. If your fuel is low, the first thing you need to do is look for the brown asteroid rocks. These are fuel rocks that contain fuel deposits for you to extract. Approach any of the brown asteroids and use your Multitool to extract the fuel from them.

If the enemy is ruthless with their onslaught, stopping by on the rocks to extract fuel is not the smartest strategy. Instead, we suggest focusing all your might on the enemy and destroying their ship. Once the enemy ship is destroyed, you will find fuel amidst the ship’s wreckage. This amount, however, will be much smaller than what you could get from the asteroid. Therefore, we recommend heading back to the rock once you’ve dealt with the enemy.

While you’re in battle, it is also important to keep your eye out for Leeches. Leeches are creatures that latch onto your ship and start sucking its fuel out. If you’re not paying heed, they could run you dry in no time. Kill the Leeches immediately, and you can then retrieve the stolen fuel from their bodies.
