Will Dying Light The Beast Have Crossplay?

Co-op has been a staple for the Dying Light franchise, but will Dying Light The Beast catch up to trends and incorporate crossplay?

Co-op has been a big part of the Dying Light franchise’s success. So this feature returns once again to Dying Light The Beast. With crossplay now a staple across major multiplayer titles in the industry, you may be wondering if Dying Light The Beast would also incorporate this industry standard.

After all, you may have friends across various platforms, and crossplay would allow you to experience Kyle Crane’s story with a friend. Unfortunately, we come bearing bad news as Dying Light The Beast will not have crossplay. We shall discuss this in detail below.

As stated earlier, Dying Light The Beast will not have crossplay. This means if you choose to pursue the game’s campaign in co-op, you will only be able to play with friends on the same platform. This may come across as a bummer to fans of the game who were hoping to play The Beast with friends on different platforms.

We still suggest holding on to hope, however, as Techland has taken crossplay into consideration as per Dying Light Franchise Director, Tymon Smektała. Replying to a fan on X,

Smektała stated that the devs had considered crossplay, but it is something they “just can’t promise for launch.”

Considering Techland’s track record of extensive support for their titles, with the original Dying Light getting a stellar visual upgrade on its 10th anniversary, we fully expect the feature to make its way to the title at some point. When that could be, however, is difficult to predict. There’s no roadmap of any sort for The Beast yet, so we’ll have to wait and see.
