Should you wait for DLCs in Dynasty Warriors Origins? What are the possibilities of additional content in the game?
Dynasty Warriors is not new to the DLC trend, but will Dynasty Warriors Origins follow in the footsteps of its predecessors? Koei Tecmo hasn’t abandoned Dynasty Warriors fans after its release of an installment. The game gets at least some new content to keep things fresh for a while before the players are on their own to explore and repeat the gameplay loop.
Now that we have Dynasty Warriors Origins with us, should we expect a DLC for that too? Well, the answer is a bit more complicated than you might think. First and foremost, let us make it clear that Koei Tecmo hasn’t revealed any plans for a DLC yet.
There has been no official news stating that the latest installment in the long-running medieval series will have any sort of story or character expansions. This may be disappointing for some fans, but it’s not all bad. The game still has two “DLCs” available on Steam. One is the Early Works Soundtrack Collection, which is free to download, while the other, the Official Book & Original Soundtrack, is available at a price (price subject to your currency).
Moreover, people in the gaming community are hopeful that there will probably be some more cosmetic additions to the game. Along with it, the developers might also add a few new game modes for us to enjoy.

Will Dynasty Warriors Origins Have a Sequel?
The future of the game and the franchise are both uncertain right now. As we said, there is no confirmation for a DLC at all. However, Dynasty Warriors Origins producer Tomohiko Sho recently confessed in an interview that he would like to take this specific installment a bit further.
In an interview back in October 2024, Sho implied that he was looking forward to Origins’ success. According to him, if the game’s sales are good enough and live up to their expectations, fans will be getting a full-fledged sequel! So, not getting a DLC can be one of those “high risk, high reward” situations for those who enjoyed Dynasty Warriors Origins.
If the game does well, instead of short additional content, we might get a fully fledged sequel. The hero will most likely be a different one, but we may see the continuation of the same story where Dynasty Warriors Origins left off.
