The new WWE 2K25 Island Game Mode won’t be available to players on PC. Find out what prompted developers to make this decision.
WWE 2K25 introduces a myriad of changes to the popular wrestling series. However, one of the biggest features it brings is a new game mode, dubbed The Island. In this game mode, players can create customized wrestlers and use these characters to engage in a diverse range of single-player and multiplayer content.
However, 2K revealed that this particular mode would only be available to players on the Xbox Series S|X and PS5 consoles. So, if you’re on PC or one of the older-generation consoles, you won’t be able to participate in the WWE 2K25 Island game mode.
Why the WWE 2K25 Island Game Mode Is Not Available on PC
In a recent interview with Wccftech, the creative director for the game, Lynell Jinks, explained why the Island game mode won’t be available on PC. He said that they wanted to maximize the graphical and performance fidelity in this specific mode. In doing so, the team only focused on the capabilities of modern-gen consoles.
Since not every WWE 2K25 player might have access to a high-end gaming PC, the Island Mode wouldn’t have performed equally for everyone on that specific platform. This is why the mode is inaccessible to players on older-gen consoles, such as the PS4 and Xbox One.
Jinks said that there was another reason that forced the developers to make this tough decision. He explained that players on PC can hack the game mode or use unauthorized mods to break the economy and progression systems in The Island. In the long run, this could have impacted legitimate players on other platforms.
These players might have encountered PC gamers using hacks or cheating their way through to access ability scores and different cosmetics. The game’s creative director feels that this would have been unfair to console players.

Will the Island Mode Release on PC Later?
The chances of the WWE 2K25 Island game mode eventually releasing on PC look slim. The concerns pointed out by Jinks are further indications that 2K does not have any such plans in place. Also, if you check out the price of the standard edition of WWE 2K25 on PC, you’ll see it listed for $59.99.
On the other hand, the game is priced at $69.99 on modern-gen consoles. This difference in pricing can be chalked up to the additional game mode on consoles, which is missing for PC players.
