Pricing data varies from region to region due to taxes and currency. In the US, as per the publicly available information, the Xbox ROG Ally will start at $549.99.  The Xbox Ally X will retail for around $899. Earlier rumors suggested higher figures like $700 to $1,000 for both models, but sources overstated those prices.

Available Regions

Initially, the launch will be made available to areas where the existing ROG Ally is already being sold. Most Xbox-supported countries, though not all of them, will get it on day one. Microsoft and ASUS will release more details on availability dates soon.

That said, the Launch is on October 16, 2025. The countries include, but are not limited to: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and United States.

China receives the Ally X variant only. ASUS may expand its stock to regions such as Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Bahrain, and Bolivia, depending on the initial sales performance. Malaysia and Croatia will miss the launch list, but ASUS plans to bring these handhelds at some point in the future.

Version Comparison

The Xbox ROG Ally X is the most exciting model in the lineup, and it’s the one to choose if you want the fastest gaming chip available right now. The XBOX Ally boasts a moderately powerful configuration, thanks to its CPU choice, which delivers performance comparable to the Steam Deck’s Van Gogh. Below is a table that compares the two.

Verdict

Both devices are great contenders for handhelds, especially since Chinese brands like GPD, AYANEO, and AYN, along with other popular brands, aren’t made available globally. Asus, in combination with Microsoft, can change this and expand their devices across multiple gamers willing to get their hands on one.

Another significant advantage is that the version of Windows 11 Home installed on these two devices is heavily cut down and optimized for gaming only.  And most importantly, you can install Steam, and your entire library gets over here.
