Elden Ring not only contains a beautiful world that players can explore, but this world is filled with amazing boss fights too. Every single legacy dungeon contains an amazing boss battle, and some are just extraordinarily better than others. Sure, the minor dungeon and overworld fights can get stale after a while. But FromSoftware does not cut any corners on their major boss battles.

Here is a list ranking some of the best fights from the base game of Elden Ring.

5) Starscourge Radahn

Starscourge Radahn almost feels like a raid boss, which is quite unlike something FromSoftware would put in their games. This makes the fight pretty unique, and the fact that a festival is held just to start the boss battle makes it even better.

There are multiple summons available for the fight as well. You can basically turn this boss battle into an all-out war if you summon everyone, and Radahn might still wipe the floor with his meteor attack.

4) Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy

There is no better gimmick boss fight in FromSoftware’s games than Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy. His boss fight consists of two phases with almost different move sets. Just because Rykard is a gimmick doesn’t mean his overall moveset has been made easier. His fight feels like a real challenge, and you really have to practice dodging his moves. Oh, and the voice acting of Rykard is just the cherry on top.

3) Radagon of The Golden Order

This is the second-to-last boss that you fight in the base game of Elden Ring. Radagon is an almost perfectly designed fight that checks all of the boxes. It is so good that most players wish the game ended here. Because the fight that comes after just doesn’t match the quality of Radagon’s boss battle.

The boss music is an amazing remix of the main menu theme, and when this plays, you know you’re in the last stretch of the game. Radagon has a single health bar, but his moveset is so diverse that it almost feels like his fight was originally designed to be multiple phases.

2) Malenia, Blade of Miquella

Malenia is a hidden boss in Elden Ring, and most people will end up missing her entirely on their first playthrough. There’s a reason for that, she’s the most difficult Souls boss that FromSoftware has ever designed, excluding the DLC of Elden Ring. She is an extremely punishing boss who boasts a lot of deadly attacks. She has two phases, and that makes the fight even more difficult.

In addition to that, Malenia can even parry your attacks. What takes her difficulty to the extreme is the fact that she heals with every single attack that hits the player. The devs went all out for this one and ended up creating a difficult yet amazing boss battle. That feeling of victory after you beat her is unmatched.

1) Godfrey, First Elden Lord

Godfrey is unlike any other boss fight in FromSoftware’s entire Souls catalog. It is just so different, which plays a part in making it the best boss fight in the game. Godfrey has two phases, and there’s a separate cutscene for each phase as well. The game hypes you up for this battle, too, by giving you bits and pieces of lore regarding Godfrey.

And when the man himself arrives, he definitely delivers on all of your expectations. The second phase is even wilder as Godfrey reveals his true identity. He even unlocks his full potential and challenges you at the height of his strength. You will also love the fact that Godfrey switches to hand-to-hand combat in the second phase.
