You’ll have to launder your ill-gotten riches, take precautions against rival gangs and the DEA, and expand your business. The game also takes a unique approach to player death. Whenever you fall, you’ll promote one of your lieutenants to the position of the leader. So, your empire will literally outlast you.

2. Empire of Sin
Travel back to the 1920s as you become part of the ruthless criminal underworld in Chicago. This strategy game lets you choose from 14 available crime bosses, all of whom are inspired by real-life figures. Then, you start building and managing your vast criminal network, which includes casinos, supply chains, and much more. And, when things get out of hand, you can also take part in turn-based combat to defend your territory against rival gangs. Since the game is set during Prohibition, an integral part of your profits will come from making and selling alcohol.
It’s up to you how you run your criminal enterprise. You can go in guns blazing in every situation. Or, you can use your money to pay off cops and make sure they look the other way. You can kill rivals outright or negotiate with them. In the end, each of your choices will determine how your operations progress. You can play Empire of Sin on the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch consoles.

3. Mafia Definitive Edition
The next entry on our list of console games like Schedule 1 is Mafia Definitive Edition. This is a remake of the original Mafia game released in 2020. You play as Tommy Angelo, a cab driver turned career criminal. This game also takes place during the Prohibition era of 1930s America. While you can’t manage a large drug racket as in Schedule 1, you do get to feel that gradual rise through the criminal organization ladder. Missions can involve combat with rival gang members, driving your vehicle, escaping the cops, and much more.
However, the brilliant plot of the game is what hooks you to the end. And, with the updated graphics and gameplay mechanics in the remake version, it’s the best time to get into the world of Mafia. Xbox One and PS4 console owners can play this game on their systems.
4. GTA 5
Grand Theft Auto 5 is without a doubt one of the greatest games where you get to play as criminals. Whether you’re enjoying the excellent single-player campaign or having tons of fun in GTA Online, it’s a game where you can truly lose hundreds of hours. The single-player campaign in GTA 5 lets you take control of not one but three different protagonists. Each of them has their own stories and personalities. You can pursue different criminal activities depending on who you’re playing as. You can establish a counterfeit cash business, a gunrunning operation, rob store owners, and so much more.
However, the crowning jewel in the game’s list of crimes is the Heists. These are multi-layered opportunities that involve recruiting the best people in your team, surveying the location you plan to rob, and planning a safe exit. When you pull off Heists without a hitch, it offers a great sense of achievement. However, more importantly, you can literally rob hundreds of thousands of dollars from a single Heist mission. 5. Red Dead Redemption 2

As Arthur Morgan, you are part of a group of outlaws, escaping from the law. The game begins with the American government cracking down on the gun-toting criminals in the west. You will rob a train, save a widow from the clutches of a rival gang, and take down ferocious wolves, all within the first hour of the game.
The game’s deep and realistic mechanics mean that you’ll need to eat and drink regularly to survive. You’ll have to dress according to the weather. If you commit crimes in front of witnesses, you’ll have a bounty on your head. Sheriffs of the region will hunt you down if you commit too many crimes.
