With the Nintendo Switch 2 nearing its release date. here is a look at some of the games to be excited for on the handheld console.
There were a ton of games that were announced at the Switch 2 Direct, with many more planned releases down the line. These new Pokemon, Mario, and Zelda have created a lot buzz within the community.
Here are some of these games, which you should be looking forward to playing on the Nintendo Switch 2.

5. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
The newest game in the Hyrule Warriors series is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Developed by Koei Tecmo Games and published by Nintendo, this game will cover the Imprisoning War which took place in the past to set up the main story of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Interestingly, the longtime Zelda protagonist, Link, will most likely be absent in this game. Instead, we will be able to play as Zelda, Rauru, and Mineru among others. The game doesn’t have a set release date for now but is expected to come out this winter.
4. Donkey Kong Bananza
Donkey Kong swings onto the Nintendo Switch 2 with this action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo. He will be on a quest to reunite with his bananas. For this purpose, he will traverse deeper into the Underground World, and encounter many obstacles and foes on the way, including the mysterious VoidCo.
The game will be released on July 17, 2025 for $69.99.
3. Metroid Prime™ 4: Beyond
Samus Aran returns in the next Metroid game. This title is being developed by Retro Studios and Nintendo. This will continue the story of this iconic bounty hunter. You will be exploring the mysterious planet of Viewros while gaining some new psychic abilities to assist this endeavor.
Will Samus be able to brave all these new and unknown dangers or perish in the process? You will be seeing this game hit the stores anytime in 2025.
2. The Duskbloods
FromSoftware’s newest game is heading for a Switch 2 exclusive release. This seems to be a departure from FromSoftware’s traditional player versus environment formula. Here, there will be an increased focus on the multiplayer aspect and player vs player combat.
We will be playing as the Bloodsworn, a group that has gained enhanced abilities through special forms of blood. The main objective of this game will be to compete for something known as the ‘First Blood’. The Duskbloods does not have a fixed release date and will release sometime in 2026.

1. Mario Kart World
The latest Mario Kart game has generated a lot of buzz in the community for its price and content. The game has lots of improvements over its predecessors, such as the open world free roam, which lets you go off the course with your friends. You can also compete in different modes, e.g., the Grand Prix and the Knockout Tour.
Mario Kart World is priced at $79.99 and will be released on June 5, 2025.
