As we close in on GTA 6’s much-anticipated release in Fall 2025, the rumor mill continues to churn out stories. The game has had so many rumors surrounding it that it has become difficult to distinguish between what’s real and what’s not. Regardless, the countless rumors keep the hype train running and build anticipation. In this article, we shall go over six GTA 6 rumors we would love to see come true.

1) A Larger Map Beyond Leonida

Rockstar Games has never shied away from building massive, lived-in worlds, and we see no reason to believe GTA 6 would break the trend. The game is set in neon-lit Miami-inspired Vice City and nearby states in Leonida. But that seems to be a little smaller than what the trend would suggest. Rumors state that the game will go beyond the scope of the state and feature other locations and states. The game was titled ‘Project Americas’ in early development, as per a Bloomberg report, which only adds fuel to the flame. It also makes sense when considering the size of the map of Red Dead Redemption 2.

2) Callbacks to GTA Vice City

The events of GTA Vice City shaped the criminal underbelly of the neon-lit city and undoubtedly influenced its crime and drug trades. This is sure to have a domino effect, which we expect to see in GTA 6 in the form of callbacks. One rumored callback is said to be the famous ‘Scarface Mansion’ from GTA Vice City. The mansion, which was owned by Tommy Vercetti, was the location of the game’s final mission. The iconic mansion is rumored to return as part of a mission in GTA 6, and we hope to see other callbacks in the same vein.

3) Fully Explorable Buildings

Previous games in the series have flirted with the idea of explorable building interiors, but the idea has never been realized to its full potential, understandably so. However, rumors suggest that Rockstar is looking to push the consoles to their limit and allow players to explore 70% of the building interiors in GTA 6. This would make the map feel less like a sandbox and more like a fully realized virtual world. We cannot wait to play it if this is true.

4) Crossplay

With GTA Online being a massive success for GTA 5, it is no doubt that Rockstar Games would carry over the cash cow to GTA 6. However, with the recent trend of crossplay making its way into most modern titles, speculations suggest that GTA 6 would follow the trend. If this holds true, we might finally get a chance to play GTA Online with friends across platforms and explore the world with no hurdles.

5) Pool, Darts and Bowling

One area where GTA 5 lacked was the side activities beyond the main missions. The game cut out a lot of beloved activities, much to the dismay of fans. These included hitting the gym, going on dates, bowling, pool, and darts, all of which were staples in prior entries. Rumors suggest that GTA 6 aims to rectify that mistake by bringing back these beloved activities. The activities will offer a much-needed breather from the high-stakes crime of the main quests and add variety to the game.

6) More Focus on Role-Playing

The GTA Online community has a sizeable niche of players who engage in role-play activities. These players try to live out day-to-day routines as citizens of Los Santos without engaging in shootouts. Rockstar seems to have noticed and is looking to add role-playing options to GTA 6. If added, these features will allow players to engage in the more mundane activities of real life. Rockstar’s acquisition of the makers of the GTA 5 FiveM mod further fuels this rumor. The mod focused on providing a role-playing experience to players, and Rockstar’s acquisition has certainly not gone unnoticed.
