Valve has finally announced Deadlock after months of rumors, speculations, and recent leaks. The game is categorized in the action genre on Steam, but no official release date or window has been announced as of now. It also has limited access, meaning you can’t dive into the game unless you have an invite.

The game’s Steam listing tags it as “Early Development Build” and states:

“Deadlock is in early development with lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay. Access is currently limited to friend invite via our playtesters.”

Valve has also added an animated teaser on the storefront page and listed a 64-bit processor and operating system as the system requirement for now. More information and visuals will likely arrive once the developers are happy with the state of the game, likely months down the line.

With Valve finally making an official announcement, we may get to hear from those who have been playtesting the title for the past few months. At the time of writing, access to the game is limited to friend invites via Valve’s playtesters. Once you have been invited, you can also invite others.

The community should keep in mind that the game is in the early stages of development, so things may significantly change over time. It will be interesting to see if Deadlock is able to cultivate a massive playerbase like Counter-Strike 2 or Dota 2. For now, all we can do is hope to score invites and wait for the developers to release more information.
