Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 will come with over 1,000 fixes, improvements, and new features, including new cinematic endings.
Since the Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 closed beta was delayed, many are wondering whether the release date of the patch itself will be pushed back accordingly. However, it seems that the community need not worry as the Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 is still expected to go live sometime in September as originally intended. Despite the delay of the closed beta of the patch, Larian Studios has made no statement regarding the postponement of the release of the live build.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 will bring a ton of new content and fixes
Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 is expected to bring highly anticipated features to the game. These include a revamped co-op mode, new cinematics for endings, and more.
Larian Studios, in an official statement, attributed the closed beta delay to new bugs that popped up while deploying the fixes scheduled for the patch.
“We were once more humbled by the classic lesson taught to every game dev while playing bug-fix whack-a-mole: if you fix one bug over here, another one might still pop up over there.”
The new bugs “affected passive rolls” and required immediate fixes.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Selected Highlights
While announcing the delay of the closed beta, the developer listed the highlights of the upcoming patch. We have curated a few below:
- Perhaps the most anticipated are the new “Evil Endings”. The studio has added new cinematic endings for players who like to tap into their dark side. These will surely entice players into trudging through the Forgotten Realms once again.
- The update will also tweak split-screen gameplay for co-op players. In the new patch, the split screens will now merge when players are nearby to reduce screen clutter and chaos. The screens will split again once the players are apart.
- It will greatly alter Honor Mode combat, with enemies deploying new strategies and actions to make the experience more challenging.
- The patch will also include a new Mod Manager that will allow players to browse community-created mods and manage their installed mods.
- It will come with significant updates to UI, art, animations, and performance.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a party-driven, turn-based action RPG set in the Dungeons and Dragons universe. Developed by Larian Studios, the game follows a group of characters as they explore the secrets of the mind flayer parasite and determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms.
