Twitch streamer DJ Akademiks admitted to inappropriately approaching 15-year-old content creator NourGxd.
Popular Just Chatting streamer Livingston “DJ Akademiks” Allen was banned on Twitch on January 28, 2025. The platform did not cite a reason for the ban, but Twitch users are speculating that it was due to an alleged grooming scandal.
On January 23, 2025, DJ Akademiks sexually approached 15-year-old content creator NourGxd. After facing widespread backlash from internet users and other content creators, Akademiks admitted his actions and apologized.
NourGxd called out the streamer for making him uncomfortable through his “disgusting” actions. Akademiks said in a recent livestream that he would “do better” and use the incident as a “teachable moment.” However, shortly after his apology, Twitch banned his account.
DJ Akademiks and NourGxd’s Controversial Moment
DJ Akademiks was talking to NourGxd on a Discord call on January 23, 2025, during a livestream. Akademiks was heard saying:
“If Max (Plaqueboymax) said he wanted to try, try f*cking a dude, will you let him f*ck you?”
NourGxd said “no” and continued streaming to his audience. Akademiks continued to make inappropriate comments and asked:
“Yo, suppose he’s like your bro. Listen, you, you always wanted me to be next to you. Now, I could be inside of you.”
NourGxd responded, saying that he is underage and it was inappropriate. Despite Nour’s comments, he kept getting inappropriate questions. The interaction between the two content creators went viral, and people called out DJ Akademiks.
Akademiks’ Response to His Audience
After the controversial conversation went viral, DJ Akademiks chose to ignore the situation altogether. With multiple content creators like Maxwell “Plaqueboymax” Elliot Dent and Jason “Jasontheween” Nguyen bringing attention to the issue, Akademiks finally responded.
He said during his last Twitch broadcast:
“This is about the 18th time y’all have tried to have this conversation,” Ak said on a live stream. “I get it. Y’all are upset. ‘How do we cancel Ak?’ I’m still the biggest, pause. You can’t cancel what you didn’t build.”
He spent some time defending himself and called out internet users for trying to cancel him. After some time, he said:
“I’ve done a lot of bulls**t up in this game,” he said. “Trust me. I’ve got mine off. This issue aside, which, again. I am wrong. I will be better. This is a teachable moment. For me, obviously, I got to watch my speech. That’s clear. Definitely a regrettable moment, and we’re going to use it as a teachable moment. Because I don’t think I’ve come this far, built this platform, to be that irresponsible, right?”
Twitch banned the streamer shortly after his livestream. This is not the first time Akademiks has faced serious allegations. In 2024, his ex-girlfriend Fauziya Ziya Abashe alleged that she was “r*ped” by Akademiks and two of his friends while she was drunk. She filed a lawsuit in August 2024, which is still ongoing in a United States court.
