Warding Off Evil is a side quest that unlocks only after completing main quest 14: Speak of the Devil. The mission, set in the city of Kuttenberg, will begin when you meet a builder, Johan Parler, who wants to save the St. Barbara church from fire and lightning with the help of magic. He wants you to steal three magical talismans and carve a magical axe from them. The three talismans are a Holy nail, a Horseshoe and a Commemorative Coin.

Stealing the Nail

Your search for the talismans begins with the Holy Nail. Here are the steps for obtaining the Nail:

1. Head to the area where a series of houses stand.
2. Look for a house that has stairs from the side.
3. Enter the house and go upstairs.
4. After unlocking the door, climb the ladder.
5. Here, you’ll find the Holy Nail on the table

Stealing the Horseshoe

You must steal the Horseshoe from the tailor’s house, south of the fountain. Here are detailed steps:

1. Head to the tailor’s house.
2. Unlock the door with your lockpicking skills.
3. At the entrance, you’ll find the Horseshoe hanging above the door.
4. Steal it.

Getting the Commemorative Coin

To get your hands on the Commemorative Coin, follow these steps:

1. You have to go inside the Hangman’s Tavern.
2. Upon entering, you’ll notice a door on the right.
3. Go down the stairs leading to the basement.
4. Turn right, and you’ll see some exposed bricks.
5. Interact with the exposed bricks to pull them out and get the Commemorative Coin.

Forging the Axe

As instructed by the Builder, you have to forge an axe from the acquired talismans. Complete this easy task by visiting any Blacksmith.

With the axe forged, it’s time to deliver it to the Builder. Head to the Charles Tavern in Kuttenberg city. You will find Johan resting on the second floor of the tavern. Hand over the forged axe to him, and this will complete your Warding Off Evil Side Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
