The release of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is right around the corner, with only a few weeks remaining. As a sequel to what is widely considered one of the best and most grounded RPGs of the modern era, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is easily one of 2025’s most hotly anticipated titles. And based on the few gameplay snippets revealed by the developer Warhorse Studios, the sequel seems to massively improve upon almost every other aspect of the original. One of the biggest improvements in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is well, the visuals. Given it’s a current-gen exclusive title, the sequel boasts significantly better visuals compared to the 2018 original.
However, the increased visual fidelity comes at the cost of significantly higher PC system requirements. In fact, Warhorse Studios’ upcoming title’s recommended specifications are much higher than most traditional current-gen releases. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 PC System Requirements
Much like the original, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is built using Crytek’s CryEngine. However, instead of using the same iteration of the CryEngine as Crytek’s own projects, Warhorse Studios uses a heavily modified version of the engine.
The CryEngine, despite being developed to simulate large sandboxes, isn’t really well optimized for open-world games. As such, Warhorse had to make some major tweaks to the engine so it could serve as the base for their open-world action RPG. The sequel uses the same iteration of the CryEngine, albeit with some improvements, especially to the lighting engine. As such, the sequel is very CPU-intensive.
The recommended CPU for the game is Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which is a higher-tier chip. Furthermore, the game is also very VRAM-heavy, with the recommended GPU being an RTX 4070. That said, here are the minimum and recommended PC system requirements for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2:

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 File Size
According to the game’s official PC system requirements, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 requires roughly 100 GB of storage space. This is a significant jump over the original’s 50 GB install size. And even with the DLCs installed, the original Kingdom Come Deliverance only took 75 GB of storage on PC and consoles. Furthermore, Warhorse Studios also recommends installing the game on an SSD. This is understandable considering Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a game that’s built with current-gen hardware in mind.
