Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, much like the first game, has a very large number of side quests and tasks. The side quests, and many of the tasks within them, are usually optional.
One such task, A Sinful Soul is part of the “Hermit” side quest. It is also one of the most easily missable tasks in the game. Accessing this task is a task all on its own. Fortunately, this guide will tell you all you need to know on how to complete this task.
How To Unlock a Sinful Soul Task
To start this task, you will have to talk to Innkeeper Betty in Troskowitz during the Hermit side quest. Normally, all of the dialogue options here are optional. However, in order to unlock A Sinful Soul, you will have to go through all of the dialogue options. This will unlock some extra objectives.
These extra objectives are:
- Talk to the villagers.
- Talk to witness Gerda.
- Investigate the cross.
- Talk to witness Stanislav.
You will need to complete all of these objectives in order to get to the next step. After they are completed, you will receive an objective to explore Apollonia. In the middle of the search area, you can find an abandoned camp where you can investigate a black horse.
After this, head to the Hermit’s location. The Hermit may be hostile or sleeping depending on the time of day. Thus, you should save the game before interacting with the Hermit. If he is hostile, simply reload and skip for a few hours before talking to him again.
Tell him about all the things you have learned, including the cross and the horse. The Hermit will then reveal his true identity and will ask you to deliver Ambrose’s Cross to a widow in Troskowitz. Thus, A Sinful Soul will finally begin.
How To Complete a Sinful Soul
Once you have finally obtained the task, head to Troskowitz and talk to the widow Margaret. She is usually located near the butcher. Hand over the cross and say that you will help her. Then select the “Let’s go to the graveyard” option to fast-travel to the graveyard.
At the graveyard, talk to Margaret once again, and she will ask you to bury Jan’s remains. Accept her request and head to the marker to dig a hole (the prompt will show as “Rob the Grave”). After this, go to the back of the graveyard to find a patch of red flowers. Pluck them and dig the grave underneath to reveal the Old Bones.
Take the Old Bones over to the grave you dug and bury the remains. Afterwards, talk to the widow and tell her, “You did the right thing.” You can choose to take her money or not. Either way, you will finally be done with the task and can continue with the rest of the Hermit side quest.
