Description of Elemental Cleaver in Baldur’s Gate 3

Elemental Cleaver is a Giant Barbarian class action you obtain after reaching Level 6 in Path of Giant. On use, you infuse your current holding weapon with elemental energy of your choice. This effect lingers as long as you are Enraged, which you can maintain by hitting or taking hits. Additionally, your weapon gains the Thrown property, which means the weapon returns to your hand once thrown, whether it’s a hit or miss.
The elemental damage you deal is an additional damage of 1d6, which adds up with the weapon’s base damage. Here are all the options that you can choose from when using Elemental Cleaver:
- Elemental Cleaver (Acid): Your weapon now deals an additional 1d6 Acid damage and gains the thrown property.
- Elemental Cleaver (Cold): Your weapon now deals an additional 1d6 Cold damage and gains the thrown property.
- Elemental Cleaver (Fire): Your weapon now deals an additional 1d6 Fire damage and gains the thrown property.
- Elemental Cleaver (Thunder): Your weapon now deals an additional 1d6 Thunder damage and gains the thrown property.
- Elemental Cleaver (Lightning): Your weapon now deals an additional 1d6 Lightning damage and gains the thrown property.
When you are raging and holding the elemental-infused weapon, you can use your bonus action to change the element of your weapon to something else. This means you can utilize multiple types of elements to exploit your enemies’ weaknesses while also playing around their resistances.
