Speaking of performance, it’s not as great as the Core Ultra 9 laptops we featured earlier. While the laptop is still quite powerful, you should double-check if your applications will run properly on this laptop first. Since this is a device with an ARM processor, lots of apps and games don’t run properly. Still, as a work-oriented device, it is a great one to consider. It has a beautiful 15-inch IPS touchscreen display, and the battery lasts up to 20 hours, according to Microsoft.
5. Acer Swift Go 14 ($849.99)
We had to include a budget laptop capable of standing strong against the MacBook, and the Acer Swift Go 14 is the perfect answer. This laptop has a surprising number of features for the price. While it has obvious compromises compared to flagship offerings, it is surely one of the best budget laptops to consider and an affordable alternative to the MacBook Air.
It is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor with integrated Arc graphics that are fit for lighter games, and this packs enough punch to accelerate GPU-heavy tasks. The laptop has 16GB LPDDR5X memory with an NVMe Gen 4 SSD for fast storage speed.
Speaking of the display, we surprisingly get an OLED panel here. For the price, this is a very nice feature to have on the laptop. It’s a high-resolution panel, too, with a 2.8K resolution. It also supports WiFi 6E. While it doesn’t pack all the latest and greatest features, it has enough considering the price, making it an all-around work laptop.
