Chapter 17 in Doom The Dark Ages takes players to The Temple of Lomarith. There, gamers must solve platforming puzzles and slay demons.

The Temple of Lomarith is the 17th Chapter in Doom The Dark Ages, the latest installment from Bethesda. In the previous two chapters, players experienced an underground city with lots of puzzles to solve and then an open area with more focus on combat.
This level aims to combine the two to bring the best of both worlds. In it, players will have to solve various platforming puzzles while taking on hordes of enemies. So, without further delay, let us walk you through Chapter 17, Temple of Lomarith level in Doom: The Dark Ages.

Entering the First Combat Arena

Chapter 17 wastes no time in bringing the action back to the fold. The moment you step out of the first room, you are thrown into an arena with various demons. After clearing the area, when you move toward the quest marker, a cliff will halt your progress. However, all you have to do is take the right cavern, kill the enemies there, and then look to your left. You will notice a climbable wall there. There are some much-needed items and armor on it.
Then, jump onto the platform in front of you. After the green monolith, you will enter yet another arena with enemies for you to battle. We recommend that you clear the gap in the wall on the left side and take the fight to the area past it since that is closer to the objective. However, there will be other demons there. So, this arena might take a while to clear out, depending on your difficulty level.
Moving Into the First Portal

If you go to the left, opposite the big portal, and look up at the wall, you will notice a green glowing spot. Hit it with your shield and call it back to reach that place. There, you will have to defeat a demon to get a Ruby. Once the entire arena is clear of enemies, the big portal gate will open on its own. Dive into it and you will find yourself underwater. From there, swim toward the quest marker. You can also use the map for navigation support.
There will be another portal just below you, and once you go through it, you will be sent to an open space with demons attacking you. Once you are done with them, move toward the objective marker. Doom The Dark Ages’ map design is quite linear. So, you won’t lose your way. When you reach the marked location, a pop-up on your HUD will let you know that a demon leader is present—which means, more blood and guts for you to spill.
Activating the Second Portal

The game will change the objective to ‘Activate The Gate.” The gate in question is hard to miss—at the far end of the area you are in. To activate it, you must climb the wall east of the gate. Then, follow that path until you see a breakable wall on your right with the green circle on it. Once you have smashed it and entered, take another right and jump down below. There, you will see a water chasm to your left on the wall.
Enter it and then swim upwards to find the exit. Then, break the red chain to your right with the shield to drop the block. After that, go down to it and punch it. Once it is positioned on the side of the water chasm, climb up and look towards the left. The Portal Gate should be aligned with the structure there. You have encountered the same mechanic in the previous two levels; hit it with your shield to activate the gate. Then, walk through the portal to enter the new location.
Use the Green Spheres To Traverse Through the Level

There, if you break the wall to the northwest, you will find a secret area. Then walk towards the marker and climb the wall to meet your new enemies. After clearing the area, follow the marker again, break the wall marked with the green circle blocking your path, and proceed. Go straight and then take a right. There, you will find a green sphere similar to the ones you saw in Chapter 15.
Shield Charge through it to reach an area swarming with demons. Clear it out and take the next sphere northeast of the previous one. After landing, walk towards your right. You will find an opening in the wall and a blue glowing circle. Hit it with your shield, and the platform moves to its left closer to you. Now, look up, and you will see a green glowing area in one of the exposed pillars of the new platform. Throw your shield at it, and then press L1/LB.
Going Through the Third Portal

Once you are on the platform, jump down to the other side and keep walking, and at the end of the road, you will encounter two enemies and another green launch sphere. Kill the demons, launch yourself through the sphere, and it will send you into the next portal. In the new location, you will find yourself underwater. Move towards the quest marker and the faint yellow light below.
Enter the underwater cavern and keep following the lights. If you get stuck on the metal gate after the last yellow light, go under it. Go through it to enter the next portal. In the new area, your objective will be to “Enter The Temple,” and you will find yourself in a pit of demons right away. After killing every demon, you will notice that the door to the next location is locked.
Unlocking the Temple Gate and Meeting the Monster

Now, head towards the cavern at the far right of the arena. There, you will instantly spot a Sentinel Shrine. Upgrade if you need to. Move out of the place, and keep walking straight. Then, at the end of the road, take the stairs to the right to enter the front area of the Temple Gate. If you go left from there, you can find a Secret Key, but more demons will instantly attack you. You can then go back to the Sentinel Shrine, use the key to the door left of it, and get a Ruby.
However, more demons will attack you on your way back. After dealing with them, get back towards the Temple Gate. There, interact with the stone structure with the purple light in the middle of the area to open the gate.
The moment the gate opens, you will hear “Unknown entity approaching,” and a giant hand will emerge from the waters below you. You will then find yourself in the middle of the palm of a massive monster reminiscent of the Lovecraftian Cthulhu. Then, Doom The Dark Ages Chapter 17, Temple of Lomarith, ends with the monster swallowing the Doom Slayer.
