This article explains how you can preload Dune Awakening on your PC via Steam so that you can start playing it as soon as the servers go live.
Dune Awakening is all set for its global release on June 10, 2025. However, if you have pre-ordered any edition of Dune Awakening, you can currently preload the game on your PC. Preloading allows you to download the game files ahead of the official release. This can often save a lot of time that you spend downloading the game on launch day, thus allowing you to play the game almost as soon as it launches.
Although you can currently preload Dune Awakening via Steam, you will need to download an additional patch when the game launches. This small patch unlocks the game files so that you can finally play it. In this article, we will explain how you can preload Dune Awakening on your PC.

As of June 4, 2025, you can preload Dune Awakening on PC via Steam, and here are the steps to do it:
- Open Steam and head to the Store option.
- Search for Dune Awakening and then hit Enter.
- On the store page, you should see a Preload button. Click on it.
- Select the drive where you want to download and install the game.
Note that the option to preload Dune Awakening will only be visible if you have pre-ordered any editions (including the base version) of the game. The Deluxe and Ultimate version allows early access so that you can play from June 5, 2025. Moreover, the game is currently only available on PC via Steam, so you can only preload it from Valve’s storefront.
Preload Size for Dune Awakening on PC
The preload size for Dune Awakening on PC is 41.62 GB. Although the System Requirements mention a storage requirement of 60-75 GB, the downloaded file size is significantly less. This size is likely to increase upon installation or when the full game launches on June 10, 2025.
The preloaded version of Dune Awakening will also have some dedicated Worlds and Seitches (servers) where you will be able to play with your friends. However, these servers are subject to change based on the player count and their overall population.
