While microSD Express cards can reach theoretical read speeds of up to 985 MB/s, no cards have come close to this except the Lexar. This Lexar Play PRO Express card can deliver up to 900 MB/s read speeds, which is amazing and more than enough for the Switch 2. It is also available in multiple storage capacities, up to 1TB. However, they are selling like hotcakes now and are not easy to find in stock.

2) SanDisk microSD Express Card
This SanDisk microSD Express card is another fine choice for the Switch 2. It can reach speeds of up to 880 MB/s, which may not be the fastest right now, but it is close. It is available in 128GB and 256GB capacities only at the moment, but you can expect higher capacities in the future. It comes bundled with the RescuePRO Deluxe recovery suite for free, which will help you recover files if you accidentally delete them.

3) Samsung microSD Express Card
The Samsung microSD Express card is certified by Nintendo for the new Switch 2, so it is fully compatible. You can even find an M logo in the middle of the card. As for read speeds, this Express card can reach up to 800 MB/s. It is available in only a 256GB storage capacity, but higher capacities should be available in the future. The caveat is that it only has a 3-year limited warranty, as opposed to a lifetime warranty on other cards. It is also costlier than the Lexar Play PRO.

The PNY microSD Express card is the cheapest Express card available on the market right now. It starts at only $44.99 for the 128GB variant, yet it delivers top-level speeds like 890/750 MB/s read/write speeds. On top of that, it is protected by a limited lifetime warranty, so your purchase will be secure. It is available in two capacities only: 128GB and 256GB, which should be more than enough for most people.
