In this guide, we shall go over how to import characters in Dune Awakening, so you can play as the character you like.
The world of Dune Awakening is on the brink of collapse. There’s no Paul Atreides, and you have to do a good chunk of the heavy lifting in terms of plot relevance. Since your character is central to the overarching plot, the game empowers you with an extensive character creator, ensuring you look just as you wish to in this new Arrakis.
If you’re unsure of the game itself at the moment, and simply wish to try out the Character Creator, developer Funcom has made a free character creation suite. This suite, titled “Dune: Awakening – Character Creator & Benchmark Mode,” allows you to meddle with the character creator and get a feel for the game.
If you like the character creator and end up making the perfect character in it, the suite then allows you to transfer the character over to the main game through exporting and importing. You can also share your characters with other people. This is especially useful if someone else has made a character in the image of Timothée Chalamet and you wish to use it for your Paul Atreides roleplay.
If you’ve made a solid character in the suite and now wish to use it in the main game, or simply wish to try out characters made by other players, here’s how to import characters in Dune Awakening.

How To Import Pre-existing Characters in Dune Awakening

If you wish to import a pre-existing character in Dune Awakening, follow the steps given below:
- Start up Dune Awakening and create a new character. This will take you to the character creation suite.
- You’ll find a bunch of tabs and presets in the character creator. Look to the bottom right corner of your screen, and you will see an ‘Import’ button. Click on this button, and it will show the list of saved characters inside the “C:\Users\[YOURNAME]\Documents\DuneAwakening” folder.
- Select the character you wish to play as and confirm your selection.
If you want a character made by someone else, you need their character .json file. Take the file and place it in “C:\Users\[YOURNAME]\Documents\DuneAwakening.” You can then import it using the steps above.
