How To Get Windtrap in Dune Awakening

Obtaining a Windtrap and setting it up in the base is a major upgrade in Dune Awakening, automating the entire water production process.

Obtaining water and staying hydrated is vital to survive the scorching desertlands of Arrakis. While there are several ways to obtain water, the most effective and consistent among them is the Windtrap. Although it becomes available only during the mid-late game, it allows you to passively collect water, making the entire process automated. Setting up a Windtrap in your base expands your water production process.

How To Build Windtrap in Dune Awakening

While harvesting water from Dew plants and blood packs is effective during the early game, they are not suitable for the late game. As a result, you need something like Windtrap to farm water consistently. You can unlock its schematics from the Research tab. Head to the Water Discipline section and find the Windtrap schematics. Unlock the schematics with 100 Intel Points. Once unlocked, you can build the Windtrap from the build menu using the Construction Tool. You will need the following materials to construct a Windtrap:

Steel Ingot (90): Crafted at Ore Refinery using 4x Carbon Ore, 1x Iron Ingot, and 50 Water
Silicone Block (30): Crafted at Chemical Refinery using 5x Flour Sand and 50 Water.
Calibrated Servok (20): Purchased from merchants.

How To Use Windtrap in Dune Awakening

Once you build a Windtrap, it starts to collect water automatically over time. However, you need to set up filters like Makeshift, Standard, and Particulate to power the Windtraps. Building several Windtraps and providing power to them can make your water farming easier and effective. You can re-route the machine between the base production and storage structures. To store the water, you need to build a Cistern and direct the water to the storage container.
