Kojima Productions’s Death Stranding 2 On the Beach preload is live, and here is how you can pre-download the title before its release. 

Death Stranding 2 On the Beach is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated titles of 2025. Developed by Kojima Productions, Death Stranding 2 is set to launch on June 26, 2025, as a PS5 exclusive at launch. However, just like the original Death Stranding, the sequel may be ported to other platforms such as Xbox and PC at a later date.

For now, PS5 players will have the privilege of diving into the sequel to one of Hideo Kojima’s finest projects before anyone else. Moreover, if you have pre-ordered the game, you can start pre-loading from June 17, 2025. Preloading Death Stranding 2 allows you to download the game files to your PS5 in advance of the release date. This keeps the game ready and lets you jump right into the stranded United Cities of America immediately at launch without any delay.  

How To Preload Death Stranding 2 On the Beach

Death Stranding 2 On the Beach follows the story of Sam Porter from where it left off in the original title. If you don’t want to wait to continue Sam’s journey, pre-loading is the best option. Here is how you can pre-load the title on PS5:

• To pre-load Death Stranding 2, pre-order any of its available editions from the PlayStation Store. 
• Once pre-ordered, head to the ‘Pre-Ordered Game’ section on your PS5.
• There you will find Death Stranding 2 with a note that reads ‘Expected auto-download date: 17/06/2025.’
• Check the box and enable the setting. That’s it. The game will be automatically downloaded to your PS5 once it becomes available.

Since the game size is 91 GB (precisely 91.476 GB), ensure you have enough free storage on your console to avoid download interruptions or errors.

Make sure to double-check later whether the game has been pre-loaded successfully to avoid a last-minute rush. In addition to pre-loading the game, pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition grants you 48-hour early access. So, you can play two days ahead of the official release.
